Discovering the new Geodies collection. Enjoying a coffee, two pastries, and a juice while chatting with journalists from prestigious design magazines is the perfect way to start the day, especially when waiting for the busiest week of the year: Milan Design Week! A breakfast event was held at the Foro Bonaparte showroom to preview the new Geodies collection designed by Patricia Urquiola for Budri. The collection will be presented at the upcoming international kermesse in Milan in April. Geodies is a collection that showcases the evolution of stone, from its natural state to its processed form. The use of geodes and quartz in the collection is a result of careful observation. It is remarkable how geometrically perfect shapes can emerge from rocks or mineral boulders that are deformed and porous at their base. These shapes, such as parallelepipeds and cusps, are highly resistant to chemical degradation, weathering, and water erosion, allowing them to remain intact for millennia. Vermentino Grand Prix 2024: top ten unveiled!

The fifth edition of the competition, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana, took place at the Hotel Miramare in Castiglione della Pescaia on April 8th. For years, the consortium has been committed to enhancing the potential of this grape variety. The jury, led by Vice Director of Corriere della Sera Luciano Ferraro, comprised representatives from starred restaurants in Maremma, owners of wine shops, delegates from associations, and industry experts. There were 73 wines to evaluate, including special types such as those aged in egg-shaped containers, concrete, amphorae, terracotta, or wood, and wines labeled as “Superiore.”  The winners of a place in the “Top Ten” 2024 of Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC, listed alphabetically by company, are: CASTELPRILE, PRELIUS 2023 – COLLEMASSARI, MELACCE 2023 – GUIDO F.FENDI, CHICCA 2022 – PODERE CIRENE, CIRENE 2023 – PODERE POGGIO BESTIALE, LÉPIDO 2023 – POGGIO LEVANTE, UNNÉ 2020 – ROCCA DELLE MACIE, CAMPO MACCIONE 2023 – TENUTE BRUNI, UPUPA 2022 – TERRE DELL’ETRURIA, MARMATO 2023 – VAL DELLE ROSE, COBALTO 2021 VERMENTINO SUPERIORE. The project and the wines were presented for tasting at Vinitaly and will be the focus of a special communication campaign throughout the year.

The Marmor Natvm collection by Budri: a tribute to the birth of stone

The Marmor Natvm collection, “birth of stone”, by Gwenael Nicolas – Curiosity Tokyo, for Budri, was conceived as a tribute to the poetry of nature. The combination of sophisticated technology and excellent craftsmanship leads to the birth of new stones. Marble decomposes and recomposes itself, becomes alive, expressing itself in new models and shapes. An explosion of tiny inlays, designer brushstrokes whose sophisticated manufacturing process vanishes, leaving only traces of its origins. White and black marbles alternate with bright geometries. The stones in sinuous and light movement free the mind from the preconception of hardness and rigidity. The marbles are inlaid with each other and with skilled craftsmanship and extraordinary ability they represent the primitive origin of the stone, the tremor of the earth that gives rise to the rock, the explosion of marble like a real Big Bang. The collection includes living tables, consoles, lamps, mirrors and bookcases. Complements that leave a strong and decisive trace within the space like the last brushstroke on the artist’s canvas.

Budri and Valextra present MarVles

Budri in collaboration with Valextra presented MarVles, a multidisciplinary project created in collaboration with the designer Patricia Urquiola: a unique mix of craftsmanship and technology. Materials collide and connect through Patricia Urquiola’s vision: softness and hardness, warmth and coldness, stones usually used in architecture become jewels thanks to Budri’s manufacturing expertise.

The Iside Valextra is not just a canvas on which to create the project, but a timeless piece made precious by the intervention of Patricia Urquiola. For each bag the designer has conceived a layered design, recreated by Valextra through leather inlay techniques, and by Budri using the same technique with marble.
