Silmo, a fair of excellence dedicated to the eyewear scene

The Salon mondial de l’optique was held from 23 to 26 September 2022

After two challenging years, an air of optimism and business has returned. The Paris Exhibition was attended by 750 exhibitors and 27 thousand visitors from all over the world. The public was able to admire the new eyewear collections, sunglasses and optical frames, new machinery and novelties also in terms of lenses and services. The Team, Zedcomm was present at the event to follow various clients from the eyewear world, organize interviews and meetings with stakeholders and the national and international trade press. Fairs represent an important moment of meeting and dialogue between all the players involved. The following companies were present at the 2022 edition:

Immagine98. The Cadore-based company whose hallmarks are creative flair, the study of shapes and materials and the ability to launch different collections with a strong personality – which presented the new sun and optical collections of its four brands : X-IDE, Rye&Lye, MIC and I-Man. at the stand of ArtMonium, the company’s new French distributor;

KOMONO, the eyewear brand that since 2009 has been the spokesperson for innovation and contemporary design in the world of accessories – watches and eyewear – thanks to its inspiring style, striking colour palette and the FW 2022 collection of optical eyewear, some previews of the new 2023 sunglasses collection and the exclusive collaboration between the brand and Walter Van Beirendonck, the renowed Antwerp-based designer.

LIGHTBIRD, the innovative brand created by the designer Corrado Possono who flew to Paris with the lLight_SOCIAL collection, a real chromatic revolution: a series of new limited edition frames with unique color combinations, made exclusively for LIGHTBIRD, a 100% Made in Italy brand.

23° EYEWEAR, the eyewear brand with a sustainable vision of circular design, debuts at the French fair with its collection of optical frames and sunglasses with an agender aesthetic with pure shapes that recall the geometries found in nature and the superior quality of Barberini mineral lenses, made in four types designed exclusively for this line.

DANSHARAN. “Anima Armena” is the new Dansharian collection, launched in 2022, designed and signed by Alain Miklitarian – the creative genius who revolutionized the concept of eyewear – and produced by DANSHARI, the Made in Japan eyewear brand born from an idea of Giuseppe La Boria who debuted on the market in 2020 with the exclusive The Art of Minimalism collection, made of acetate and pure Japanese titanium, which offers extremely light and flexible frames, with a refined and elegant design.

Alain Miklitarian plays with colors and shapes, echoing the tones of nature and Armenian culture, without compromising on fashion, respecting his own vision and idea of ​​eyewear, with absolute coherence. For this collection, materials and sober colors have been chosen for every day with flashes of color that express the joie de vivre of this wonderful country.

MEI SYSTEM. Founded in 1985 by Stefano Sonzogni and Raffaele Scudeletti, MEI has always been focused on the development of high quality CNC machines. The debut in the optical sector dates back to the 90s, when the company launched Sphera, a milling machine for shaping sun lenses.

But it was at the beginning of 2000 that MEI literally revolutionized the optical market, first introducing the process of shaping ophthalmic lenses by milling. In fact, the company introduces a new technology which allows, unlike the more common grinding, to significantly increase not only the flexibility of the machine (shapes and inclination on the edge impossible to perform with the old grinding wheels) but also its productivity. Not only that: milling, in fact, is suitable for lenses of any organic material and guarantees greater execution speed and stability than grinding. Thanks to this process it is therefore possible to cut any type of lens into complex shapes, with extraordinary results.

LOOK-made in Italy is an eyewear company that has been designing and producing all the frames in its Italian factories for over 40 years. Extreme lightness, essential design and absolute well-being are the founding principles of the philosophy that has characterized the brand since its inception. Equazione Botanical Essence makes its debut at SANA 2022

SANA 2022, the 34th edition of the International Exhibition of Organic and Natural Products, was held in Bologna. From 8 to 11 September, the pavilions of BolognaFiere hosted over 700 exhibitors from all over the world.

Equazione Botanical Essence – the 100% made-in-Sicily clean beauty brand born of Giusi Aricò’s pharmaceutical knowledge and her husband Michele Faro’s experience in botanical floriculture – made its debut in this context fully in line with its philosophy of ultra-natural and sustainable products.The brand played a leading role in the pavilions of the Bologna trade fair with a super-refined and minimalist stand, but at the same time full of references and tributes to Sicily, among Sicilian dark brown heads and plants housed in the typical pine cone-shaped vases of Caltagirone craftsmanship.

In this context, the company presented for the very first time the ambient diffusers in the four fragrances that also define the beauty line and that originate from the use of ancient plants lent to cosmetics: Yuzu, Finger Lime, Plumeria and Cestrum are the botanical ingredients that make Equazione precious. Each fragrance has been obtained in full respect of its active ingredients, combining ancient techniques with advanced technology. The complete line includes: hand cream and soap, body cream, shower gel, scrub, candles. Each product is free of parabens, colouring agents, silicones, mineral oils or any allergens, all meticulously produced for sensory pleasure and beauty rituals.

Monica Larner and the wines of DOC Maremma Toscana

The Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana had the pleasure of hosting for the first time the American journalist Monica Larner, one of the leading international wine experts and author of “Robert Parker Wine Advocate”, by organizing a tasting dedicated to the DOC Maremma Toscana Denomination.

The tasting organized in the area went beyond the rosiest expectations. The votes assigned to the DOC Maremma Toscana wines are extremely high: “Among the 150 labels for tasting, more than 100 have exceeded 90 points. For Ciliegiolo and Vermentino the average is really high with astronomical peaks ”explains the president of the Consortium Francesco Mazzei. “Our Vermentini have achieved scores of 94+, the highest for this grape variety in Italy and in general throughout the world”.

Thus, the wines of this denomination continue their international growth, thanks also to the contribution of professionals who tell the excellence of wine in the world.

Press tour Venturini Baldini, discovering Villa Manodori

The Tenuta di Quattro Castella, in the heart of Reggio Emilia province, presented as an absolute preview the restored Villa Manodori.

Zedcomm has organized an exclusive incoming press for the exclusive Villa Manodori, which has just been restored. A mini-press Journey to know the details of the restoration, the philosophy of the winery, to experience the hospitality first-hand and meet the owner Julia Prestia – who has been at the helm of the winery since 2015, with a holistic project to enhance the territory, its wines and its typical products. A select group of journalists had the opportunity to stay for one night in one of the six suites of the Villa, a mix of ancient and modern, clean and minimalist lines and personal touches. The whole renovation project was curated by Julia with the support of DCEF Studio, in the figure of arch. Elisabetta Fulcheri. The renovation of the historical parts was followed by the doctor. Isabella Cervetti. Dinner was served in the inside restaurant Taglierè in Limonaia, with the dishes of Chef Mario Comitale, a contemporary reinterpretation of the local culinary tradition.
