Consorzio Vini Doc delle Venezie Event
Last 14th October, the first Pinot Grigio international summit organised by Consorzio Vini Doc delle Venezie was held in Venice, in collaboration with Civiltà del bere. The convention, dedicated to this grape variety which is very popular all around the world but has become the symbol of Italian great white wines, focused on Italian Pinot grigio possible trends and the great potential represented by an etiquette that places the “Italian Style” at the centre of its philosophy.
The event, promoted by Consorzio Doc delle Venezie, an organisation representing 42% of the global production, was attended by the international press and other professionals.
BRIEF
The hosts took part at the conference “I valori del Pinot grigio delle Venezie DOC”: a crucial moment of confrontation on DOC with a parterre of experts, both from Italy and abroad, who took stock of the present and future perspectives of this unquestionably successful wine. The event saw the attendance of some well-known experts from the main reference foreign markets, including Emma Dawson MW (buyer Berkmann Wine Cellars, London) for the English market, on the theme “In UK is a matter of style”, Christy Canterbury MW (journalist from New York) for the American market, “A phenomenon born in the USA”. Among the most authoritative Italian participants, Ettore Nicoletto (AD Gruppo Santa Margherita), “The brand’s strength, the pioneers’ responsibility”, Sandro Sartor (MD Constellation Brands Europe, Middle East, Africa and Ruffino), “A new DOC and the preservation of values on global markets”, Alberto Marchisio (DG Cantine Vitevis), “From commodity to territorial project”, Flavio Innocenzi (DC Vanofiere), “Interpreting, promoting and preserving Italian origins in the world”.
Later the same day, a walk-around tasting reserved to trade and press operators was held with the opportunity to discover the different Pinot grigio delle Venezie expressions thanks to more than 80 etiquettes available for tasting.
ATTIVITÀ
Zedcomm, together with Civiltà del bere, partner of the initiative, took care of the event organisation, of the press office activities with the writing and issue of two press releases (before and after the event was held), of the recall activities, of the invites of a selected contact list of people belonging to the enogastronomic field and the press kit preparation.
RISULTATI
The event had a great success among press: there were over 40 people from Italian, foreign and local press. There was also the intervention of Italian and foreign newspapers specialised in wine, bloggers, tv, cooking magazines and press offices. A very important moment of confrontation to introduce the “Italian style” Pinot grigio and its strong territorial identity more closely.
