Vda Donnas DOC is the new Grosjean project. It is a wine born from the skilful care and dedication of this variety, located in the hamlet of Le Roncdevaccaz, which, it must be emphasised, is rooted in very ancient traditions, despite the difficulty of growing it due to the steepness of the surrounding mountains. In these places, centuries-old terraces, supported by walls up to 4 metres high, are able to cope with the steep slopes and support the vines in pergolas, known as topie. This is where heroic viticulture finds its highest expression. This family of vignerons, which has always been involved in the cultivation of no less than 11 grape varieties from the Aosta Valley, is proposing a new label as a symbol of a true and authentic expression of this Nebbiolo biotype. It is with great pride that we present this new project,” says Hervé, “the company has invested in the area by purchasing new plots of land and, although production is still limited, we hope to increase it in the near future. He continues: ‘Despite the very difficult conditions in which we have to work, the vine and the care we give it remain at the centre of everything: Vda Donnas represents our region and our territory in a strong and identifiable way’.
